Yurralyi Maya GTG 8 Power Station is a gas fired open cycle power generation plant located just outside Karratha in WA. CATCON undertook the following construction works on the project; construction off all reinforced concrete structures, installation, testing and commissioning of all underground services including water & fire ring mains, compressed air and electrical conduits and installation of main gas line joining onto existing gas main.
Working for the Rio Tinto the project was subjected to comprehensive safety procedures and methods. CATCON performed well in all aspects of compliance and were continually acknowledged by the client as having a good safety culture. Equipment used on the project included; 30t excavator, dump trucks, loaders, concrete pumps and 5t excavators.
