Torrens Lake Walk development provided a new lake edge concrete paved pedestrian and bicycle path with new pedestrian lighting to Adelaide’s environmentally significant Elder Park. The project was undertaken as a stage of the Riverbank Project – Torrens Lake from King William Street to Montefiore Road. Elder Park was substantially regraded to revised slopes to the new path where the old bitumen path that was away from the lake edge was removed. Soft landscaping included the planting of trees and the placement of large area of irrigated turf to the reshaped park.
Existing pedestrian, bicycle and lake use was maintained during the construction period.
