Located 35km West of Goulbourn (NSW), the Cullerin Range Wind Farm Project was a balance of plant contract carried out in consortium with Areva T&D. The project consisted of the design and construction of gravity concrete turbine bases, road and hardstand network, installation of cable network, construction of the civil works associated with a substation and overall site management.
All on-site management was co-ordinated under a CATCON PMP (Project Management Plan) document with design elements commencing in June 2008, the civil works were completed in February 2009. The project required working in cold climatic conditions with steep access and large amounts of rock requiring special consideration and planning.
Equipment used on the project included; D9 Dozer, 30t excavators, off-road dump trucks, off-road water carts, compactors, graders, crusher unit, Vermeer Rocksaw, off-site concrete batch plant, boom pump and purpose made form work.
