Rymill Park

The Rymill Park upgrade project was a lake rejuvenation, landscape and streetscape project completed for client Adelaide City Council.

The project involved various works including the demolition of existing services, pavements, and retaining structures, bulk earthworks, handling of contamination, and offsite disposal. Additionally, it included preparation of the lake base and installing HDPE liner, forming, reinforcing, and pouring new lake walls, retaining structures, and footpaths. Landscaping and irrigation systems, a biofiltration pond, water filtration system, stormwater and drainage structures, as well as lighting and electrical services. The project also entailed constructing insitu concrete tanks and hydraulic services.

Key challenges during the project included managing contaminated materials, managing event closures and local stakeholders, adhering to a tight program, and navigating potential clashes with existing services. These challenges required careful planning and execution to ensure the project’s success within the specified timeframe and budget.
