The Rundle Mall was a $30m redevelopment of the main thoroughfare in the heart of Adelaide City, the project commenced in February 2013 and was completed in September 2014. Civil works included; replacing old pavement with new concrete base, installing precast tree pit walls (16), laying granite pavers, installation of new street furniture benches/podiums and removal and re-installation of art work.
Works were carried out a within a 20m wide corridor between retailers and small businesses, resulting in restricted working hours due to traders and small businesses and peak-period access requirements. Equipment used on the project included; 13t excavators, 8t excavators, 5t excavators, bobcats, 2t rollers and a 100t crane for the installation of precast tree pit walls.
