The Baroota Reservoir is located in the Mid-North of South Australia, in the vicinity of the Flinders Ranges. The reservoir is an additional water service to the township of Port Pirie.  Connected to the reservoir is the Barroota Tunnel Outlet. CATCON were contracted to perform a series of rehabilitation projects on the outlet tunnel, therefore increasing the throughput of the tunnel.

The primary civil works involved the removal of existing 800mm dia pipe work and the installation of new 1m dia pipe work. Other works included the construction of a concrete bulkhead, specialist injection works, concrete spray to lining of tunnel and all associated electrical, mechanical and structural steel works.
