Torrens Island Power Station

The “Quarantine Island” Power Station is located on Torrens Island, Adelaide, South Australia. CATCON were contracted by Alstom Power to supply civil works for the project, including; earthworks, construction of concrete structures, service installations and road works.

While constructing the 3000m3 concrete elements – including 4 turbine basses – special care and consideration were required when dealing with the high water table on the island. Retention Ponds Provided Settlement before disposal of collected sub surface water.

The “Quarantine Island” Power Station is another significant project in CATCON’s major infrastructure engineering portfolio.
